Second star to the right and straight on til morning!

My brother and I must have read and watched Peter Pan a thousand times over as kids. It's one of my fondest childhood stories thinking back, and still today it captures the imagination and heart of so many readers, young and old alike.

One starry night, Peter Pan and Tinker Bell lead the three Darling children over the rooftops of London and away to Neverland - the island where the lost boys play, mermaids splash and fairies make mischief. A magical place where you will never grow old.

But a villainous-looking gang of pirates lurk in the docks, led by the terrifying Captain James Hook.

Magic and excitement are in the air, but if Captain Hook has his way, before long, someone will be walking the plank and swimming with the crocodiles.

About the author

Sir James Barrie was a Scottish novelist and playwright, he wrote a number of successful novels and plays but none more so than Peter Pan.

Although he continued to write successfully, Peter Pan overshadowed his other work, and is also credited for popularising the name Wendy in the early 1900s.

Before his death, he gave the rights to the Peter Pan works to Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London, which continues to benefit from them today.
